Xie Haipeng, born in 1962 in Jurong, Jiangsu, has been passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood. He received guidance from masters of Chinese painting such as Wei Zixi, Song Wenzhi, and Bai Xueshi. He specializes in landscape painting and also excels in flower-and-bird painting. Xie Haipeng’s landscape paintings excel in their conceptualization and artistic vision; ordinary scenes and familiar landscapes are transformed under his brush into stunning vistas imbued with rich emotional resonance. From a distance, the trees appear lush and dense, and the mountains and rocks seem to overlap; yet upon closer inspection, not a single rock can be discerned. This fully captures the subtle and complex relationships among the myriad elements of nature—seemingly connected yet distinct, yet forming a harmonious whole. His works are ethereal and elegant, brimming with charm.
